The EOS 20D is only a little more expensive than other entry-level digital SLRs, but it offers much more. Image quality is superb – better than many six-megapixel cameras, and the continuous shooting mode is exceptional. Nikon’s D70 handles better, but it’s not enough to stop the 20D stealing its crown. fantastic cameraReviewer: 20d Joe, london, UK i have had this camera for just under 2 years now and several thousand pictures later the camera has never failed to perform during temperatures of -9 to 35+
images are fantastic, this camera is fantastic and fits really well in the hand.
Still worth considerationReviewer: swede, Carbondale, United States I can get excellent 33x48 cm borderless prints from the digital images from this camera. With the same sensor, it's a bargain compared to the 30D, if you can find one . Nice to have a larger sensor? Sure, but the one on the 20D is more than big enough to see if you got it or not. When the prices on the full-size sensors come down, I'll probably upgrade eventually, but this is good enough that I've gone ahead and bought the digital-only 17-85 IS lens. The combo is easily lugable, and the low noise at high ISO of the 20 or 30D, together with the image stabilization, make hand-held work very easy even in dark places.
What a workhorseReviewer: Gavin Saville, Ilford, Great Britain For reliability you cant beat it. Produces excellent image quality. Handling is simple yet complex enough to get the best out of most situations. The image temp settings actually have an good impact unlke some cameras. All in all great value and a great camera. The camera that converted me from a film lover (still do a bit) to a digital lover.
Only gripe.... Canon.. what was the point of the EOS30D... a revamped 20D with a higher price tag to hit the consumers pocket?
Canon 20DReviewer: Mally, Driffield, East Yorks, United Kingdom Good solid, substantial body. Have used this camera for almost 18 months. Coupled with Canon L glass this gives me as much quality as I would like.
