Style from the gods, features to drown in and, of course, 12 interpolated megapixels, Fujifilm claims. Could you ask for more? Well, yes, actually, a bit more speed and responsiveness wouldn't go amiss… however, these issues are not fatal. Exercise patience and you've got yourself a bargain with the S7000Z. . Also consider:

My Constant CompanionReviewer: Jo P, Reading, England I own a Nikon D80 which is a great camera but my constant companion is my S7000. It is so light and compact that I can carry it anywhere. I've bought the wide angle lens and the telephoto which extend photo oportunities. With the tele-converter I can use a whole range of filters too. I particularly like the macro and super-macro mode which give stunning images. The only snag - it's just a touch slow for a speedy switch on and candid shots. Otherwise it's excellent.
Great cameraReviewer: Neville.cowan, Woodstock, United Kingdom I have owned my S7000 for a few years now, I have had great results especially in the macro area, with two macro settings you can really get close. I have also had great results from enlarging my pics to A3 size. and that is at 6 megapix setting not 12. you can see some of the results at http://www.photogalaxy.com/photographer/nevillecowan/photos/?sort=new and http://www.photoboxgallery.com/nevmedia/2341866 Where the camera does fail is what others have said ie external flash which you have to work out yourself and by the way due to the cameras sensitive electronics as far as flash is concerned I use the Sunpak auto 383 super flash and it works a dream. The camera also fails in focusing in low light condition. But work with the camera and you can compete with the best SLRs in most areas.
extremely pleasedReviewer: bryzyz, Harlow, Essex, UK I've had the S7000 for two years, very pleased with the results, the odd problem using AV, very sunny day but a blue cast. The odd problem using external flash, a bit trial & error , till you get the hang of resetting the White Balance, at the moment trying to get a tele lens.Overall an excellent camera and more than pleased with the results & good value .
Superb CameraReviewer: silverback, Chorley/Lancashire, England I started at 50 years of age in digital photography, And I upgraded to this camera from a small compact, It wasn't that easy for me to use at first but now 12 months later l love it. I was lucky to pick my camera up for just £229.99 from Dixons who were discontinuing it. l know they still retail for around £300.00 but you should get it cheaper if you shop round. I had to start from scratch with this camera but its been well worth it. the pictures at 6 mega-bites are very good but the pictures at 12 m/bite interpolation can be superb, would highly recommend this camera especially to the budding amateur. Also you have the added bonus of being able to make short films.
Excellent Kit for the cashReviewer: Dougie6751, Edinburgh, Scotland I am an amateur photo enthusiast who was SLR competent pre-digital but following a succession of cheap end digital cameras wanted something a bit more like digital SLR but without the downsides - dirty sensors in a non sealed unit etc. The Fuji S7000 fits the bill perfectly. Looks great - performance more than adequate for most needs. And a steal on the internet. Add a tube/UV filter and you have a great camera that produces great shots and looks the part. Only photo snobs would regard it as not the real deal.
Focussing ProblemsReviewer: Steve Russell, Tunbridge Wells, UK Since upgrading from the 3000z to the 7000z, I have been disappointed. The main problem is the focussing - the camera does not always focus where it is pointed. I am fully aware of the need for the camera to 'lock on' to the subject.
I have lost several shots because the subject of the photograph is blurred: due to the fact that the camera has decided (even though the focus is locked on target) to go for an area of high contrast usually behind the subject. Mainly I have the focus set to centre, but this penchant for focussing elsewhere smacks of dynamic or 'area' mode. Therefore, I thought that a firmware fault may be present. The camera has been back to Fuji who say there is no fault.
The 3000z gave me no problems in this area: in fact it gave me no problems at all and I wish I had not sold it!
If anyone else has had this problem or has any advice please contact me via email. My address is: steve2437@tiscali.co.uk
Thanks Steve Russell
