The TZ1 provides most of the answers for the concerned photographer, particularly on holiday. The TZ1 promises much,10x zoom, pocket sized body, image stabliser-that it would be amazing if there weren’t some failings. Despite occasionally suspect picture quality, though, it remains an extraordinary achievement. Also consider:

In July I was looking for a new camera - mainly because I was going on holiday to New York and I wanted to get some great photos. When I saw a digital (non SLR) camera with 10 optical zoom, I knew that this would be the one! The photos have great quality and the zoom is fantastic. There really aren't many bad things I can say about it - other then when you have zoomed in closely it is quite shakey. However, that is expected with any camera, especially a compact. I was between this one and the Kodak V610 - I'm so glad I chose this one - I would DEFINITATLY RECOMMEND IT!
