The model that restores Sony’s reputation at the higher end of the compact camera market. It may be a bit on the chunky side but this is one of the most usable cameras around. Boasting a 2.5-inch colour screen, smooth zoom button and super sharp images. The DSC-H1 is one camera Sony should be proud of! Also consider:
Canon Powershot s2is
I was given a Cybershot DSC H1 for my birthday last November. It is a really good camera with a huge zoom that works exceptionally well at both ends of it's extent. It is easy to use and the menus are easy to navigate - once you've read the quick start guide! The only criticism I have to make on this camera is that it lacks RAW capture. You have to stick with JPEGS, which aren't the best quality.
Overall, A really good camera.

I found this camera to be one of the best, and easiest to use for such a professional piece of equipment. The range of features that this camera offers are perfect for every type of shot. It has a large LCD screen and the battery life is ideal allowing hundreds of pictures to be taken on one charge. I have only just begun to use the manual settings, and already I am able to produce professional looking images, with such ease. I would definately recommend this camera for anyone from a novice like myself, to a professional who is wanting a camera that will take an excellent shot everytime. The only issue I could find (but this is probably normal for digital cameras on automatic mode), is that taking shots inside a hall on the automatic setting, sometimes produces grainy and sometimes out of focus shots. However I have found this to be the case with most cameras that I have used, and this problem can be corrected by switching to manual mode.
