Although not without its flaws – specifically, its speed and handling – the V3 is an outstanding camera with some unique abilities. Image and build quality are as good as you’ll find anywhere, and overall performance is excellent. If you’re looking for a semi-pro camera, the V3 should be high on your shortlist.

Very good!

I have been using my sony DSC-V3 for over 2 years. So far my photos are all saved as jpeg in best quality and they are excellent. I do not do alot of printing as I prefer slide shows.
I use my digital for everything from macro close up of flowers, bugs to group photos outside with great results. Even scenery shots are nice. I like the convenience of the built in flash for fill-in on portraits etc when needed. It has a very narrow range however so I bought an external flash as well. It is small enough to carry it wherever you go. The battery is awesome. For me the ONLY draw back is not being able to change the lens. I am looking into a digital slr but this camera will still be part of my supplies.
I would recommend it to anyone as a first digital as it is that easy and convenient to use and gives you great pictures.
